Cake Plates Are For Displaying

• In late Victorian times, there has been a need to display cakes at the table so that they can be seen by guests.
• This was achieved by altering the serving platters often called salvers.
• A cake stand draws attention to the cakes by elevating the cakes above all other food on the table. 
• Cake plates come in all sorts of styles and sizes.
• Cake plates can be covered with a dome or not.
• Some cake plates are tall on a pedestal or a low pedestal.

Twenty years ago cake plates and stands were hard to find, but now like everything else, they have come back in fashion. We aim to keep up with the trend.
